Requirements of the Directee
to receive Spiritual Direction
The directee meets with the Spiritual Director once a month to share how God is moving in their prayer, ministry, work, and family life. The primary purpose of spiritual direction is to journey with the person, while encouraging them towards spiritual growth.
Prayer
Prayer is so important as it energizes the heart of a believer through the power of the Spirit and ultimately brings us closer to God. Therefore, the directee must be a person who is able and willing to pray.
Meditation
Meditating on scripture, praise and worship, spiritual reading, and conversational prayer are also some examples of nurturing your relationship with the Lord.
Journaling
Journaling about your prayer experience can further articulate your thoughts and provide insight. When meeting with your spiritual director, sharing your prayer journal and spiritual experiences can be helpful in discerning how the Lord is moving in your life.

When preparing for your spiritual direction session, take the time to reflect on your recent prayer experiences and prayer journal entries. Reflect on how you sense God revealing Himself to you, as well as any moments of dryness or struggle in prayer. Pay particular attention to areas where you recognize God’s grace at work, as well as where you feel invited to grow. Approaching your spiritual direction session with openness and honesty will allow your director to accompany you more effectively in discerning God's presence and guidance in your daily life.
